The Institute of the Brothers of the Sacred Heart of Jesus is initiating various special programs for the marginalised and disadvantaged people in society, especially in Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Bihar, and Madhya Pradesh. Thozhamai Illam for Children (Friendship Home) is a unique home for special children who are most neglected by society. It was established on 15th February 2012 by Very Rev. Br. Dr. A. Victordass SHJ, the Superior General of the Institute of the Brothers of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, Palayamkottai, Tamil Nadu, India. We bring them into Thozhamai Illam for Children and provide shelter with delicious nourishment. Most of the children in our home are orphans and semi-orphans. We send them to nearby schools for their education. We also provide skills training for their better future. We take them to the hospital periodically for their medical check-up. The children feel a homely atmosphere on our premises. Thozhamai Illam provides a quality of life for special children and mitigates the impact of the epidemic, especially on orphans and other vulnerable.
